Description
The Kidde KI-OSCD is an intelligent addressable multisensor detector that combines advanced optical (photoelectric) smoke sensing with life safety carbon monoxide (CO) detection in a single device. Designed for use on Kidde Intelligent loop controllers, it continuously monitors environmental conditions and processes data through on-board microprocessor analysis.
Utilizing dual optical wavelengths and multi-angle particle detection, the KI-OSCD differentiates between nuisance sources and actual fire conditions to reduce unwanted alarms. Smoke and CO sensing elements are independently analyzed by the onboard microprocessor to determine whether to initiate a fire alarm, a CO life safety alarm, or both.
The KI-OSCD supports electronic addressing, automatic device mapping, environmental compensation, and day/night sensitivity adjustment. With up to 250 intelligent addresses per loop and compatibility across multiple mounting base configurations, it is suited for commercial occupancies requiring monitored CO detection such as hotels, dormitories, assisted living facilities, healthcare occupancies, schools, and similar applications where CO monitoring may be required.
This detector uses existing wiring and mounts to common North American and European electrical box formats, simplifying retrofit and new installation projects.
