Description
The Johnson Controls M301MJ Mini Monitor Module is an addressable interface module designed to monitor normally open dry-contact initiating devices within intelligent fire alarm systems. It connects conventional alarm or supervisory devices—such as pull stations, waterflow switches, or heat detectors—to a signaling line circuit (SLC), allowing the control panel to supervise and report device status.
The module is designed for installation in intelligent two-wire fire alarm systems and uses rotary switches for individual addressing on the SLC loop. Each module occupies a single address and communicates device status back to the fire alarm control panel.
The compact design allows the M301MJ to be mounted inside a single-gang electrical box directly behind the monitored device. Because of its small size and lightweight construction, the module can be installed inside the box without rigid mounting hardware.
The device provides a two-wire initiating device circuit (IDC) used to monitor normally open contact fire alarm or security devices. The IDC circuit is supervised using a 47 kΩ end-of-line resistor, which detects open or short wiring conditions and ensures system integrity.
The M301MJ can also be used as a replacement for the earlier M501MJ monitor module in existing systems.
