Description
The Apollo 55000-327USA is a Series 65A photoelectric smoke detector operating on the light scatter principle, making it well suited for applications where slow-burning or smouldering fires are likely. It is commonly used in bedrooms, escape routes, and similar occupancies where early detection of visible smoke is critical.
The detector connects to a two-wire loop carrying both power and signaling and operates over a wide voltage range. In standby condition, the LED remains clear and illuminates red in alarm. When smoke enters the optical chamber, scattered infrared light is detected by the photo-diode; if the threshold is exceeded, the detector increases current draw to signal an alarm condition to the control panel.
The 55000-327USA is UL, ULC, FM, CSFM, and MSFM approved and is compatible with a range of Series 65A mounting bases.
