The Edwards EC2-OS is a conventional photoelectric smoke detector head designed for use with compatible Edwards initiating circuits and detector bases. It uses Optica optical sensing technology to detect smoke particles while helping reduce nuisance alarms from non-fire sources such as cooking smoke or water vapor.
This detector is designed as a head-and-base system, allowing the detector head to be easily installed, replaced, or serviced while the terminal base remains wired in place. Built-in self-diagnostics continuously monitor device operation and sensitivity, while automatic drift compensation adjusts the alarm threshold over time to maintain reliable performance as the detector becomes contaminated with dust or debris.
A tri-color LED indicator provides clear visual status indications for alarm, trouble, and standby conditions. The EC2-OS is part of the Edwards EC2 Series conventional detectors and is intended for use in compatible fire alarm systems requiring two-wire initiating devices.
