Description
The Hochiki FRCME-M Fast Response Contact Monitoring Module is an addressable interface device used to monitor dry-contact initiating devices within Hochiki digital fire alarm systems. It allows conventional devices such as pull stations, waterflow switches, or other contact-based alarm inputs to be integrated into an addressable signaling line circuit (SLC).
The module operates using Hochiki’s Digital Communication Protocol (DCP), which provides reliable communication and rapid response between the device and the fire alarm control panel. When the monitored contact changes state, the module sends an interrupt signal to the control panel to report the alarm or event condition.
The FRCME-M supervises the field wiring using an end-of-line resistor, allowing the system to detect open or fault conditions in the monitored circuit. The module can be configured to monitor normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) contacts, providing flexibility for various initiating device types.
The compact design allows installation inside a single-gang electrical box behind the monitored device, simplifying retrofit installations and reducing the need for additional enclosures. Each module is assigned a unique address stored in onboard EEPROM and supports up to 127 devices per Hochiki DCP loop.
