The Hochiki SOE-24H Detector is a conventional combination detector that integrates photoelectric smoke detection with a fixed-temperature heat sensor to provide reliable fire detection in a wide range of commercial environments. The device is designed for use in open-area fire detection applications where both smoke and temperature monitoring are required.
The detector uses multi-spectrum smoke categorization technology, employing IR and blue LED sensing combined with a photodiode to analyze smoke characteristics. This approach allows the detector to respond quickly to both smoldering and flaming fires while helping reduce nuisance alarms caused by cooking or environmental contaminants.
The SOE-24H includes automatic drift compensation, which continuously monitors sensor sensitivity and adjusts performance over time to maintain accurate detection. Maintenance indication alerts users when the detector requires service.
Status indication is provided through a bi-color LED that flashes green during normal operation and displays red indications when sensitivity has drifted outside the UL-listed range or when the device enters an alarm condition.
The unit also includes a magnetic test feature for functional testing without removing the detector from its base. The sensor is compatible with several Hochiki NS series bases, allowing flexible installation in conventional fire alarm systems.
