Description
The Kidde 20SDR-VRF is a battery-operated smoke alarm designed to provide residential smoke detection while enabling wireless communication between compatible Kidde alarms. Utilizing photoelectric sensing technology and Kidde Wire-Free Interconnect capability, the alarm allows compatible devices throughout the home to communicate alarm events without additional wiring. When one compatible alarm activates, all interconnected alarms sound, helping improve whole-home notification.
Designed to meet current UL 217 residential smoke alarm requirements, the 20SDR-VRF incorporates enhanced sensing technology intended to improve smoke detection performance while reducing nuisance alarms commonly caused by cooking activities. Crystal-clear voice alerts identify alarm conditions, and self-testing diagnostics continuously monitor internal electronics to help verify proper operation.
The alarm is powered by two replaceable AA batteries and supports simple twist-and-click installation without household wiring, making it well suited for retrofit and renovation projects. Event memory, HUSH nuisance alarm silencing, and 10-year end-of-life notifications further enhance maintenance and usability.
