Description
The Kidde COP is a standalone carbon monoxide alarm designed to provide continuous monitoring for dangerous carbon monoxide levels in residential environments. Utilizing an electrochemical sensing element, the alarm detects elevated CO concentrations and alerts occupants through audible and visual warning indicators to help provide additional time to evacuate to fresh air.
Unlike battery-only models, the COP operates primarily from a standard 120 VAC outlet and incorporates two AA backup batteries to maintain protection during short-term power outages. The rotating plug design allows the unit to be installed upright in most electrical receptacles, increasing installation flexibility and usability.
The alarm includes Kidde’s HUSH™ feature for temporary silencing of nuisance alarms, integrated test functionality for operational verification, and end-of-life notifications that remind users when replacement is required 10 years after activation. The unit is designed and tested to meet the latest UL 2034 residential carbon monoxide alarm requirements.
