Description
The Kidde COPDLQW is a smart carbon monoxide alarm designed to provide continuous residential protection against dangerous carbon monoxide levels while also monitoring indoor air quality conditions. Using an electrochemical CO sensor and integrated Wi-Fi connectivity, the alarm delivers audible alerts locally and sends real-time mobile notifications through the Kidde app whether occupants are home or away.
In addition to standard UL 2034 carbon monoxide alarm thresholds, the COPDLQW includes low-level CO alerts that provide earlier warning of elevated carbon monoxide conditions. The alarm also incorporates indoor air quality (IAQ) monitoring that provides notifications intended to help homeowners identify and improve indoor air quality conditions. The manufacturer notes that IAQ monitoring is informational only and is not a life-safety or OSHA-certified feature.
The unit features an easy-to-read backlit display, multi-color LED status indicators, and a rotating plug that allows upright installation in most electrical outlets. It operates primarily from a 120 VAC outlet and includes two AA backup batteries to maintain protection during temporary power interruptions. Compatibility with Amazon Alexa-enabled devices and Google Home provides additional smart-home integration options.
The COPDLQW also includes Kidde’s HUSH™ feature, nighttime low-battery chirp suppression, and end-of-life notifications that remind users when replacement is required 10 years after activation.
