The Notifier FCM-1-REL Releasing Control Module is an intelligent addressable interface module designed for use in fire suppression releasing systems. It controls and supervises the power supplied to releasing devices such as suppression system solenoids while communicating with compatible Notifier fire alarm control panels through a signaling line circuit (SLC).
The module uses FlashScan communication protocol, enabling fast and reliable communication with the control panel while allowing each module to be individually addressed. The device supervises the wiring to the releasing circuit and reports status conditions such as normal operation, open circuits, or short circuits to the fire alarm control panel.
For safety, the module operates using a redundant activation protocol. Two activation signals are required to arm the module, followed by confirmation signals within a three-second window before releasing power to the suppression device. This design helps prevent accidental activation of fire suppression systems.
The FCM-1-REL can control one 24 VDC solenoid or two 12 VDC solenoids connected in series, and it mounts inside a standard 4-inch electrical junction box. The module includes rotary address switches, a panel-controlled status LED, and support for Class A or Class B wiring configurations.
