The Notifier FST-851H Intelligent Thermal Detector is an addressable heat detector designed for property protection in intelligent fire alarm systems. It uses an advanced thermistor sensing circuit combined with integrated communication electronics to report temperature conditions directly to compatible Notifier fire alarm control panels.
The detector provides fixed high-temperature heat detection at 190°F (88°C), making it suitable for environments where higher ambient temperatures could cause nuisance alarms with lower temperature detectors. Each device includes Point ID addressing, allowing the control panel to identify the exact location of the detector in alarm.
The unit communicates using FlashScan communication protocol, which significantly improves system response time by grouping device polling and prioritizing devices that report status changes. The detector can also operate with CLIP protocol systems for backward compatibility with earlier Notifier panels.
The FST-851H features dual bi-color LEDs with 360° visibility that flash green during normal operation and illuminate steady red when an alarm condition occurs. The detector installs into compatible mounting bases, allowing interchangeable use with other Notifier sensor types for simplified installation and maintenance.
