The FDBZ492-HR is a two-wire addressable air duct monitoring housing with a built-in programmable relay base. Designed for direct mounting to HVAC duct systems, it detects smoke and combustion products circulating through supply and return air ducts. The housing draws a cross-sectional air sample through an inlet sampling tube, passes it over a compatible smoke detector mounted inside, and exhausts the sample back into the duct through an outlet tube.
The relay output provides Form C dry contacts rated at 125 VAC / 24 VDC, 2.5A for direct HVAC shutdown or activation of supplementary control equipment. The FDBZ492-HR works with Siemens H-series and FD-series addressable detectors including the HFP-11, HFPO-11, SFP-11, SFPO-11, FP-11/FP-11C, 8710, 8713, FDO421, FDOOT441, FDOOTC441, OP921, OOH941, and OOHC941. Cover removal switches (SW1, SW2) generate an immediate trouble condition when the clear cover is removed, and a tri-color LED on the detector indicates normal (green), trouble (yellow), or alarm (red) status.
The unit mounts to the side, bottom, or top of a duct and supports air velocities from 100 to 4,000 ft/min. Inlet sampling tubes are available in four lengths for duct widths from 6 inches to 10 feet. An optional FDBZ492-RTL remote test switch enables manual relay-output control and status indication from a remote location.
