Description

The Viking 02280C Model D-2 Air Pressure Maintenance Device is a pressure regulator designed to automatically reduce and maintain air pressure in dry pipe and preaction fire sprinkler systems. When connected to a continuous supply of clean, dry air or nitrogen, the device regulates the incoming pressure to a preset level required by the sprinkler system.

The device restricts airflow through a built-in orifice and regulator assembly, allowing system piping to maintain a stable pressure without rapid repressurization. Internal components include a replaceable air filter, a ball check valve to prevent backflow, and a diaphragm-based regulator assembly that controls outlet pressure.

The Model D-2 is factory set to maintain approximately 40 psi and can be adjusted after installation. It is typically installed in the air or nitrogen supply line with isolation valves and optional bypass trim to allow faster initial pressurization of system piping.
