The Viking 06459B (Model H-1) Pneumatic Actuator is a spring-loaded, rolling diaphragm piston-operated valve used in pneumatic release fire protection systems. It provides separation between the pneumatic detection system and the water-operated valve trim in deluge or preaction sprinkler systems.
When pressure is applied to the priming chamber, the actuator seals the inlet from the outlet, allowing the system to remain in a supervisory condition. When the detection system releases air pressure, the actuator opens and allows water pressure to pass through the outlet, initiating operation of the associated deluge or flow control valve.
The differential design allows a relatively low detection pressure to control a higher water operating pressure, enabling reliable operation in pneumatic detection systems. The actuator features corrosion-resistant materials and minimal moving parts to ensure dependable performance in fire protection applications.
