Description
The Viking 10730 Automatic Drip Check (Model D-1) is a ¾-inch valve used in fire protection sprinkler systems to automatically drain water that may leak past a normally closed dry valve or deluge valve. The device closes when system pressure increases and opens automatically when pressure decreases, allowing accumulated water to drain from the valve trim.
Model D-1 includes a notched seat that allows a small discharge of water when the system valve trips. When the control valve is closed, the alarm line automatically drains through the drip check. This configuration is commonly used with Viking deluge valves and flow control valves.
The unit is constructed from brass with stainless steel internal components for durability and corrosion resistance. It is designed for installation within the outlet provided in valve trim and must be installed level for proper operation.
