Description
This temporal horn-strobe combines an audible horn and a UL 1971-listed synchronizing strobe in a single housing for wall or ceiling-mounted fire alarm notification. The strobe is rated at 15 cd for wall mount and 15 cd for ceiling mount per UL 1971, and 75 cd per UL 1638. The horn produces a selectable temporal or continuous tone at either high (98 dBA average anechoic) or low (94 dBA average anechoic) output, configured via on-board jumpers.
The device operates on 16–33 VDC or VFWR and requires a constant (not pulsed) signal circuit voltage. The horn and strobe have separate, polarized terminal inputs, allowing connection on a single NAC circuit or two independent circuits. When set to temporal mode, all horns on a common two-wire circuit self-synchronize within 200 milliseconds without an external control module. Strobe flash synchronization to UL 1971 requirements (within 10 milliseconds over two hours) requires a compatible synchronization source such as the G1M-RM, SIGA-CC1S, or BPS6A/BPS10A.
The housing is made from durable, fire-retardant Noryl plastic with a textured red finish, rated for both indoor and outdoor use (outdoor installation requires a 757A-WB weatherproof box). It flush-mounts to a standard North American two-gang box or 4″ square box, and ships with LKW-1 “FIRE” wall-mount lens markings. Strobe is compatible with Edwards Genesis signals on the same circuit.
