Conventional Photoelectric Smoke Detector
The Hochiki SOC-24V Photoelectric Smoke Detector is a conventional smoke detector designed for reliable fire detection in open-area applications. It uses a photoelectric sensing chamber to detect smoke particles produced by both smoldering and fast-flaming fires, making it suitable for commercial and industrial fire alarm systems.
The detector incorporates a computer-designed non-directional smoke chamber with an infrared LED light source and photodiode sensing element. When smoke enters the chamber, light is scattered onto the receiving element, generating an electronic signal that is processed to determine alarm conditions.
A bi-color LED status indicator provides visual feedback during operation. The LED flashes green in normal standby conditions, flashes red if sensitivity drifts outside the acceptable range, and illuminates steady red when the detector enters alarm. The detector also includes an automatic sensitivity verification feature that helps meet inspection and maintenance requirements outlined in NFPA 72.
The SOC-24V detector is designed for installation with compatible Hochiki conventional detector bases such as the NS-4 Series, NS-6 Series, HSC-4R, and HSC-R bases, allowing flexible configuration for two-wire or four-wire systems.
