The Kidde KS-PS is an intelligent addressable photoelectric smoke detector designed for use with Kidde Fire Systems control units operating on the SmartOne communication protocol. Utilizing multi-criteria optical sensing with dual wavelengths and multiple detection angles, the KS-PS differentiates between actual smoke and nuisance particles to reduce unwanted alarms.
The detector gathers analog information from its optical sensors, converts the data to digital signals, and uses onboard microprocessor analysis to determine alarm conditions. Electronic addressing is performed using a SmartOne Hand-Held Programmer. The detector head mounts to compatible terminal bases (sold separately) and supports optional remote LED indication.
The KS-PS is listed to UL 268 7th Edition and is suitable for open area use, including raised floor and plenum applications.
