The Simplex 4098-9770 is a TrueAlarm addressable carbon monoxide (CO) sensor base designed for use with compatible Simplex fire alarm control panels. The base contains an integrated electrolytic CO sensing module and works with a compatible TrueAlarm smoke, multi-sensor, or heat detector head to provide combined fire detection and toxic gas monitoring.
The CO sensor base communicates with the fire alarm control panel through the IDNet signaling line circuit and consumes only one system address while providing multiple sensing functions. When paired with a TrueAlarm photoelectric or multi-sensor detector, the system can combine CO concentration data with smoke detection algorithms to improve fire detection performance and reduce nuisance alarms.
Advanced detection modes include False Alarm Reduction, which analyzes smoke and CO data together to reject non-fire conditions, and Faster Fire Detection, which increases detection sensitivity when CO presence indicates potential combustion. The sensor base also provides toxic gas monitoring to UL 2034 and UL 2075 standards, allowing the system to monitor hazardous CO concentrations and report levels in parts per million (ppm) directly at the fire alarm control panel.
