Description
Kidde Fire Systems’ High-Pressure Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Fire Suppression Systems use a forged brass discharge valve to dispense CO2 from the 49L (75-lbm) or 67L (100-lbm) capacity cylinder assemblies. A safety relief device, compliant to US DOT and EU PED requirements, is provided as part of the discharge valve assembly, which protects the cylinder from over pressurization. A side port functions as a fill connection or as an attachment point for a compatible control head. Since the CO2 is stored under its own vapor pressure, a pressure gauge is not provided.
The discharge valve cannot dispense the cylinder contents without a properly attached discharge head. A discharge flex hose connects the discharge head to the system manifold. Alternatively, a swivel adapter may be used in place of a discharge flex hose to connect to the system manifold.
The discharge valve is provided as part of the HPCO2 cylinder assembly. A discharge head and flex hose need to be ordered for each cylinder assembly.
