Apollo has released a new lineup of Soteria UL devices that replace the legacy Discovery and XP95A series. The newest Soteria UL range was released in response to the advanced requirements of the latest UL 864 10th edition and UL 268 7th edition standards. They have been extensively tested to pass the new standards set by UL, and include features to improve detection reliability, so you can have peace of mind. These addressable detectors feature faster status reporting, improved environmental control, and higher loop power. Soteria UL also introduces high resistance to nuisance alarms and simple installation, along with their featured PureLight and CoreProtocol technology. The Soteria UL devices are packed with modern technology and quality of life features. Firstly, the lineup has been rigorously tested, having 120,000 hours of environmental testing. Consequently, the devices have approvals from FM, UL, ULC, and CSFM. Apollo detectors feature CoreProtocol, which is Apollo’s proprietary signaling loop circuit protocol. This protocol allows up to a maximum of 2,028 addresses using Soteria UL devices and intelligent addressing. Along with these advanced features, Soteria UL is also very simple to install. They feature an easy-fit base, and have the isolator located in the head for easy installation and better loop protection. Moreover, the FasTest feature allows you to quickly test your detetors, reducing the maintenance time for your system.
The newest series also has improved resistance to false alarms, while still maintaining a high sensitivity for accurate smoke detection. The new detectors have a wire mesh, which is rated to IP44. As a result, the IP44 rating ensures that your detectors will have protection against dirt, dust, and insects, which are the cause for so many false alarm instances. Furthermore, the detectors include features like drift compensation and PureLight technology. Apollo’s PureLight technology ensures that your detectors maintain high sensitivity towards real alarms, while reducing false alarms. It includes a serpentine case design that has been tested using computer simulation to create an airflow of smoke to the sensing chamber, while external light and dirt is blocked off. The shape of the chamber has also been improved to reduce stray reflections and further improve reliability.
The new Soteria UL devices are direct replacements for the legacy detectors, so make sure all your system builds are using the newest devices. Additionally, the new detectors are fully backwards compatible, so if you are looking to retrofit a previous installation, the new detectors may be used alongside older XP95 and Discovery systems.
