Description
The Kidde KI-HFD is an intelligent fixed-temperature heat detector designed for use with Kidde VS and VM series addressable fire alarm control systems. The detector monitors ambient air temperature and initiates an alarm when the sensed temperature exceeds the fixed alarm threshold.
This model uses advanced thermistor-based sensing technology and on-board microprocessor intelligence to analyze environmental temperature data. The detector performs continuous self-diagnostics and stores maintenance information in non-volatile memory to support long-term reliability and system supervision.
The KI-HFD provides a fixed-temperature alarm point of 135°F (57.2°C) and is intended for applications where dependable heat detection is required but rate-of-rise detection is not necessary. The device supports electronic addressing, automatic device mapping, and a bi-color status LED for visual indication of device status.
