Description
The Style 7 Network Interface Card, the NET-7 and NET-7M modules provide for a fully supervised Style 7 network interface between a main MXL panel and one or more MXLR remote panels. The network uses two RS-485 wire pairs for interconnection between panels. The NET-7 module provides, and supervises, two independent communication paths allowing system operation through both open and short circuits. The NET-7 should be located at the extreme points of the local MXL network (M-NET). This module determines what is installed in its enclosure and reports this information to the MMB where it is compared to the CSGM database. The NET-7M is located in the middle of the M-NET between the two NET-7’s. It allows for communication to additional MXLR remote panels, but it does not supervise the network. It must, therefore, be used in conjunction with NET-7s, but does not require a network address. Both the NET-7 and NET-7M incorporate diagnostic LED’s for use in system troubleshooting. They are approved for use in environments from 0°C to 49°Cand are listed by Underwriters Laboratories. UL and ULC Listed, and NYMEA, CSFM and City of Chicago Approved.
